Verdi man charged in connection with drug bust

LINCOLN COUNTY — A Verdi man has been charged with seven counts of controlled substance crime, after an area drug task force searched a Lincoln County residence last week.

Jeremy Fredrick Aguirre, 48, made his first appearance in Lincoln County District Court on Jan. 24, court records said. Aguirre was charged with first degree controlled substance possession, second degree controlled substance possession, fourth degree controlled substance possession, four counts of fifth degree controlled substance crime, and ineligible possession of ammunition.

On Jan. 23, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and the Buffalo Ridge Drug and Violent Crime Task Force assisted the Brown Lyon Redwood Renville Drug Task Force with executing a search warrant at Aguirre’s residence on the 1600 block of 120th Street in rural Verdi, a criminal complaint said.

According to the complaint, sheriff’s deputies knocked on the door, and then breached the door after receiving no response. Law enforcement found Aguirre and another person, Elisha Abrahamson, inside. Law enforcement also found 162 grams of crystal meth in the residence, as well as LSD tablets, cocaine and other controlled substances, the complaint alleged.

Aguirre was placed under arrest. Abrahamson was found to have an outstanding warrant in Pipestone County, and was arrested and transported, the complaint said.
