Two injured in Hwy. 68 crash

CANBY — Two people were injured in a single-vehicle crash on Minnesota Highway 68 Sunday afternoon, the Minnesota State Patrol said. A Sioux Falls woman and a Hendricks teen were taken to Sanford Canby hospital with non life-threatening injuries, the State Patrol said.

The crash was reported at 4:45 p.m. in Florida Township, Yellow Medicine County. A 1997 Chevy Tahoe driven by Jacob Allen Long, 42, of Hamlet, Nebraska, was westbound on Highway 68 when it lost control, the State Patrol said. The vehicle went into the ditch and rolled.

Road conditions were snowy or icy at the time of the crash, the State Patrol said.

Two passengers in the Tahoe, Chelsea Lynn Tucker, 20, of Sioux Falls, and a 16-year-old Hendricks girl, were taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The State Patrol reported that none of the vehicle occupants were wearing seat belts.

The Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office also responded at the crash scene.
