One injured in Hwy. 14 crash

LAKE BENTON — A South Dakota woman was injured in a one-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 14 Monday night, the Minnesota State Patrol said.

The crash was reported at 10:24 p.m. in Verdi Township, Lincoln County. A 2006 Dodge Durango driven by Shelley Ann Jurgens, 20, of Estelline, S.D., was eastbound on Highway 14 when Jurgens overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle, the State Patrol said. The vehicle rolled onto its side in the ditch.

Jurgens was taken to Avera Tyler with non life-threatening injuries, the State Patrol said. A passenger in the vehicle, Justin Paul Van De Walle, 21, of Lake Benton, was uninjured. Neither occupant of the vehicle was wearing a seat belt, the State Patrol reported.

Tyler Ambulance, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Lake Benton First Responders, and Elkton Fire and Rescue all responded at the crash scene
