Walnut Grove pedestrian struck by car

WALNUT GROVE — The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office and Walnut Grove Police are investigating an incident where a pedestrian was reportedly struck by a car earlier this month. The Sheriff’s Office said they received a call regarding an incident that happened around 3 p.m. on April 4, at the intersection of Eighth Street and Washington Street in Walnut Grove.

The Sheriff’s Office said Kong Meng Xiong, of Walnut Grove, was struck by a vehicle while getting his mail. Xiong was not injured, the Sheriff’s Office said. The vehicle in the incident was a white Nissan Altima with the Minnesota license plate number CLN531, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The Sheriff’s Office said the incident is under investigation. No charges are pending yet in the investigation, and a news release from the Sheriff’s Office did not include information on who may have been driving the vehicle at the time of the collision.
