Firefighters douse small fire at RTR construction site, officials say
TYLER — A propane leak caused a fire at the construction site of the new Russell-Tyler-Ruthton school, but there were no injuries and no damage to the school building, RTR Superintendent David Marlette said.
A gas tank fueling cement mixing equipment outside the front of the school building started on fire Thursday afternoon, Marlette said.
The couplings on the tank had started leaking and caused a flame, he said. The Tyler Fire Department was called to the scene. After the fire was extinguished, the gas couplings on the propane tank were replaced, Marlette said.
