State Patrol IDs man injured in Hwy. 59 crash

AMIRET — The Minnesota State Patrol has released the name of a man injured in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 59 on Tuesday. Brett David Baumann, 48, of Storden, was taken to Sanford Tracy Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries, the State Patrol said.

Baumann was driving a 2005 Mercury Montego that was rear-ended in the crash, which was reported at 2:21 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Highway 59 and Lyon County Road 2, the State Patrol said.

Baumann was traveling southbound on Highway 59 and had stopped to turn east onto County Road 2, when his vehicle was struck by a 2006 Buick LaCrosse driven by Noel Alexander Chalmers, 33, of Tracy, the State Patrol said. Chalmers was uninjured in the crash, the State Patrol said.
