Injury crash on Highway 59 Thursday

AMIRET — A two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 59 Thursday caused injuries, the Minnesota State Patrol said. More information on the number of people injured in the crash and the severity of their injuries was not available Thursday afternoon. The State Patrol said more information would be released at 11:30 p.m. Thursday.

The crash was reported at 2:21 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 59 and 180th Street in Sodus Township. A 2005 Mercury Montego traveling southbound on Highway 59 had stopped to turn east onto Lyon County Road 2. A 2006 Buick LaCrosse rear-ended the Mercury, the State Patrol said.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, Tracy Ambulance, the Marshall Fire Department and the Garvin First Responders all responded at the crash scene,
