One injured in Redwood County crash

REDWOOD COUNTY — A Saturday night crash in Redwood County injured a Comfrey man, the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office said. The crash is currently under investigation.

Around 10:19 p.m. on Saturday, the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Redwood County Road 15 and Jade Avenue. A 1996 Chevrolet club cab pickup driven by Cody Matthew Bedner, 23, was eastbound on County Road 15 when it left the road and entered the south ditch, the Sheriff’s Office said. The truck hit the Jade Avenue embankment, went airborne over the road and landed in the west ditch. The vehicle came to a stop around 200 feet west of the intersection, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Bedner was transported to Carris Health Redwood Falls with minor injuries, and the truck received extensive damage, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The Lamberton Fire Department, Lamberton Ambulance and the Lamberton Police Department all responded at the scene of the crash.
