Echo teen injured in Highway 23 crash

GREEN VALLEY — One person was hurt in a two-vehicle crash Monday evening, at the intersection of Minnesota Highway 23 and Lyon County Road 8, the Minnesota State Patrol said. A 17-year-old Echo girl went to Avera Marshall Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.

The crash was reported at 6:05 p.m. A 1999 GMC Sierra driven by Christine Louise Degier, 17, was traveling north on Highway 23 when Degier lost control, the State Patrol said. The State Patrol reported road conditions at the time of the crash were snowy and icy.

The GMC was struck by a southbound 2002 Dodge Ram driven by Micheal Joseph Robinson, 46, of Wood Lake, the State Patrol said. Robinson was not injured in the collision.

The Marshall Fire Department, North Memorial Ambulance and the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office all responded at the scene.
