CLARKFIELD — A juvenile cyclist was taken to the hospital in Granite Falls after a crash with a pickup truck in Clarkfield, the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office said. At 4:02 p.m. Sunday, the Sheriff’s Office was notified of a crash involving a vehicle and a bicycle near the intersection of 10th Street and 11th Avenue.

William Weinhold, Sr., of Clarkfield, was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado that was pulling a trailer to the city brush site, the Sheriff’s Office said. A bicycle, ridden by a juvenile male, struck Weinhold’s vehicle in the side, the Sheriff’s Office said. The juvenile was transported by ambulance to Granite Falls Health.

The Clarkfield Ambulance, Granite Falls Ambulance, and Granite Falls Police all responded at the scene of the crash.
