MARSHALL – Omar Yanez, Jr., 18, of Marshall, appeared in Lyon County District Court Dec. 16 on charges of domestic assault, fifth degree assault, two counts of terroristic threat charges, and obstructing legal process charges. A complaint alleges Yanez assaulted and threatened two people in Marshall on Nov. 20. The court found probable cause for the charges, and a hearing was set for Dec. 30.

MARSHALL – Larry Burian McClendon, 44, of Sauk Rapids, pleaded guilty in Lyon County District Court Dec. 16 to charges of interfering with an emergency call, court records said. McClendon interfered with an emergency call in Marshall on May 27, court records said. McClendon was sentenced to 270 days in jail, and pay a $100 fine.

MARSHALL – Keland R’Mel Whittler, 30, of Marshall, appeared in Lyon County District Court Dec. 16 on charges of giving a false name and date of birth to a peace officer, driving after revocation and speeding. A complaint alleges Whittler gave a false name to a peace officer during a traffic stop in Lyon County on Oct. 7. A hearing was set for Jan. 13.

MARSHALL – Daniel Conrad Hennen, 24, of Ghent, appeared in Lyon County District Court Dec. 16 on charges of third degree driving while impaired. A complaint alleges Hennen drove with an alcohol level of .12 in Marshall on Oct. 11. A hearing was set for Jan. 13.

MARSHALL – Melinda Marie Haupt, 22, of Arlington, Minn., appeared in Lyon County District Court Dec. 16 on charges of financial transaction card fraud. A complaint alleges Haupt made purchases on another person’s debit card in Marshall on Oct. 10 or 11. The court found probable cause for the charges, and a hearing was set for Dec. 30.

MARSHALL – Thomas James Byrne, 53, of Hanley Falls, appeared in Lyon County District Court Dec. 16 on charges of driving after cancellation – inimical to public safety. A complaint alleges Byrne drove with a cancelled license in Lyon County on Nov. 3. The court found probable cause for the charges, and a hearing was set for Jan. 13.
