Morning crash near Russell injures 2

MARSHALL – A Russell man and a Tyler woman were injured in a two-vehicle crash near Russell on Tuesday morning.

The State Patrol said the injuries were non-life threatening. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts and were transported by ambulance to the hospital inMarshall.

The crash, which occurred at 7:27 a.m. on Minnesota Highway 23, involved a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Dwight Demuth, 20, of Russell, and a 2012 Ford Edge driven by Debbie Honebrink, 47, of Tyler, State Patrol said. The preliminary investigation shows that the Chevrolet was passing another vehicle heading westbound on 23 and collided head-on with the Ford.

An airbag was deployed in Honebrink’s vehicle, State Patrol said.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office assisted the State Patrol at the scene.
