No motive revealed in Arizona killing
HOLBROOK, Ariz. (AP) — Investigators declined to reveal the suspected motive in the shooting death of a prominent California farmer’s estranged wife last month in eastern Arizona. However, they said the couple’s prolonged divorce case arose in nearly all interviews with family and friends. Michael Abatti was arrested Dec. 23 on suspicion of murder. She was found dead in her family’s vacation home in Pinetop, Arizona. An attorney for Michael Abatti said his client remains innocent under the law. The couple split in 2023 and Kerri Abatti filed for divorce in proceedings that were pending in California at the time of her death.
