Pilot died in Hutchinson plane crash

McLEOD COUNTY — The McLeod County Sheriff’s Office identified the aircraft pilot who died in a small plane crash Jan. 31 south of Hutchinson as Dr. Richard Jolkovsky, 61, of Avon. A passenger in the plane was identified as Kyle Fiebelkorn, 24, of St. Louis Park. He is hospitalized and reported in stable condition, according to a McLeod County Sheriff’s Office media release.

The sheriff’s office received a 911 call at 1:01 p.m. Jan. 31 regarding a small airplane that crashed near 145th Street and Plum Avenue south of Hutchinson. Two men were removed from the aircraft and transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. Both individuals were transported by helicopter to a metro area trauma center.

Agencies responding to the crash were McLeod County Sheriff’s Deputies, the Hutchinson Fire Department and Allina Ambulance.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are investigating the crash.
