Lake Benton Opera House awarded $20,000 state grant

Projects in southwest Minnesota were included in a total of more than $276,000 in small grants recently awarded to history organizations statewide. This week, the Minnesota Historical Society announced that the Lake Benton Opera House and the Lac qui Parle County Historical Society in Madison each received state grant funds. The small grants are awarded quarterly to help nonprofits, educational organizations, local governments and tribes preserve Minnesota history, the MNHS said. One injured in Hwy. 91 crash Friday

BALATON — A Lynd woman was injured in a one-vehicle crash Friday on Minnesota Highway 91 south of Balaton, the Minnesota State Patrol said. Jolynn Renae Lemburg, 55, was taken to a hospital in Sioux Falls with non-life-threatening injuries. The crash was reported at 7:52 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Highway 91 and 221st Street in Skandia Township, Murray County.
