Power outage affects 1,000 customers in Marshall

MARSHALL — A power outage early Tuesday morning affected about 1,000 customers on the east side of Marshall. Marshall Municipal Utilities said the outage was caused by the failure of a main distribution feeder switch near East Lyon Street and Jewett Street. MMU electrical workers were able to restore power to customers by around 5 a.m., according to MMU. “We had crew members dispatched right away,” said Tony Mead, electric operations manager at MMU. MARSHALL— The Farmers Market opens Saturday and will be held every Saturday through Oct. 31 from 7:30 a.m. to Noon, according to corrdinator Kim Guenther The market is located behind the Marshall Area YMCA in the Schwan's Parking Lot at 200 S.
