GOP bus tour stops in Marshall
MN candidates incuding Demuth, Fischbach urge residents to get out vote

MARSHALL -- Republican candidates for Minnesota state offices said Sunday they were working to give the state "a fresh start" if they were elected.
"This is how we come together, giving our state a fresh start, a new direction. Because the pathway that we are on is not sustainable," said governor candidate Lisa Demuth. "It's a message of common sense."
Demuth and fellow Republican candidates for state and U.S. offices made a stop at the GOP campaign office in Marshall on Sunday.
In the days leading up to Tuesday's election, Republican candidates were on a bus tour around Minnesota. On Sunday, the tour traveled through the southwest region, making stops in cities including Willmar, Marshall and Worthington. In addition to Demuth and Minnesoa lieutenant governor candidate Ryan Wilson, speakers at the Marshall tour stop included U.S. Rep. Michelle Fischbach, state attorney general candidate Ron Schutz, and secretary of state candidate Tad Jude.
Demuth said that ending fraud in Minnesota was one of her priorities.
"It's ending fraud once and for all, and holding the fraudsters accountable. If you commit fraud in the state of Minnesota, you're going to go to jail, and we're going to seize your assets," Demuth said.
Demuth said she would also work to make Minnesota more affordable.
"I, as your next governor, will be firing all of the commissioners currently," she said. "The reason that's important is, we have to change the culture that has been allowed to go on far, where people are ignoring fraud, they're covering it up, or they're just complacent in it."
Demuth said she would improve Mnnesota's business climate, end tax on Social Security, support law enforcement, and help improve education by supporting teachers' ability to discipline students.
In his remarks, Jude said he would fight fraud as Minnesota Secretary of State. "As Secretary of State, I will clean up the voting rolls, something Steve Simon has refused to do," Jude said. He said he would also support requiring photo ID to vote.
"We're going to put an end to fraud tourism, people coming here from other states or other countries to take advantage of the taxpayer. That has to stop," Jude said.
Fischbach voiced support for fellow Republican candidates, saying she wanted to have Demuth dealing with fraud in Minnesota. She also urged voters to support Republican state legislative candidates like Braxton Seifert and Brad Hennen. "It's critical that we win those state races, too," Fischbach said. "Without winning the House and the Senate at the state, Lisa isn't going to be able to do her job."
Candidates, including Schutz and Fischbach, encouraged Republicans to continue getting out the vote.
"We absolutely love Minnesota, and with your help, we're going to get it back," Schutz told the audience.
"We all know this election in two days is about common sense versus crazy, and common sense is going to win," Fischbach said. "We have to make sure we get every single Republican vote out."
