Why am I running for City of Tracy Minnesota Mayor?
I am running for Mayor of Tracy because people came to me and asked me to run because I’m an honest and trustworthy person. I have been a resident of Tracy since 1982. For 44 years I have lived here, and I’ve held the hands of close friends, and even some people I didn’t even know, while they have taken their last breath. I also had to deliver news of a loved one passing. My military and law enforcement experience, took quite a toll, not only my life but on my family’s. They taught me that when troubled times come, none of us face them alone. Am I perfect? Not by a long shot! Do I care about the people in this city? Absolutely!
Those of us from the older generation, all share a fond memory of growing up in our hometown, a place where we cared about each other. We left the house in the morning, and as long as we were home before the streetlights came on, mom and dad knew we were good to go.
We respected adults. Not just the elderly, but all adults, and we respected each other. I was raised to respect everyone.
In today’s society, we’ve lost some of that. Not all adults respect other adults. and their children see it and accept it as normal. I raised my children to respect all adults and to show kindness toward everyone.
I want to see the next generation grow up showing respect and kindness to everyone. Both are learned traits.
What are the major issues that our city is facing?
In small town rural America, it’s difficult to keep a town thriving. Most of our businesses depend on loyalty.
Without our support, these businesses will fail.
Our city can only flourish when we all think, “Now this is the town that we want to raise our family. This is the town where we want to live. This is the town where we want to visit, shop, hang out, spend the day or two.”
It’s not yours, and it’s not mine. It’s ours
I want the very best for our city, even if I don’t get elected.
If elected as your Mayor, I promise to be there for all the citizens. I will respect all our citizens and will do my best to help our town grow.
I want the children of this city to grow up and have those same feelings I had for the town I grew up in.
