MARSHALL -- A group of five Marshall students were recognized at the Oct. 19 Marshall School Board meeting’s Tiger Spotlight for the month of October.

"Her caring nature and willingness to support those around her make her a great role model for her peers," the nomination said.
Marchington was nominated by Marshall High School teacher Brianne Marlyn. Marlyn said Marchington spends part of her lunch time helping a peer with algebra. "Wind patiently reteaches concepts, explains problem-solving strategies, and guides her classmates with the same care and dedication one would expect from a teacher," Marlyn said in her nomination.
She said Marchington's willingness to help others and desire to see them succeed "reflects the very best of our school community."
Hisken was nominated for Tiger Spotlight by Career and Technical Institute teacher Travis Christenson. Christenson said Hisken has consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic and passion for learning, spending extra time outside class to work on his small engine project.
"Rather than looking for easy answers, he took the initiative to troubleshoot the issue, research possible solutions, and carefully implement his repair plan," the nomination said. "He as well was willing to talk with the class in a breakout session about his experiences with this in-depth repair he completed."
