MARSHALL -- A Marshall man is being charged with drug possession after a search allegedly found drugs including a large amount of marijuana, mushrooms and other drugs at his home.

Kasey Roy Westberg, 39, appeared in Lyon County District Court on Oct. 1 on two counts of first degree drug possession and one count of possessing more than two pounds of cannabis. On Oct. 5, an amended criminal complaint added three counts of first degree drug possession, and charges of possessing more than two kilograms of cannabis concentrate, Lyon County court records said.

A criminal complaint alleges that on Sept. 28, law enforcement detained Westberg and conducted a search of Westberg's vehicle and residence. Westberg allegedly told a drug task force agent there was about nine pounds of marijuana in the home.

The complaint alleges law enforcement found bags of cannabis flower weighing a total of more than 8 kilograms and plastic baggies containing cocaine in a bedroom closet. Law enforcement allegedly found hundreds of units of THC vape cartridges, and more than 3 kilograms of psychedelic mushrooms being stored in an attic crawl space, the complaint said.

The complaint alleged Westberg told officers he had been offered $600 per month to store the cannabis by an individual he would not name.

Westberg has prior convictions for controlled substance crime, the complaint said.

On Tuesday, the Lyon County Attorney's Office filed a notice in district court that they intend to seek aggravated sentencing in Westberg's case. An upcoming hearing in the case is set for Oct. 13.
