MILROY -- Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash east of Milroy on Wednesday morning, the Minnesota State Patrol said. An Arlington woman was transported to Sanford Tracy Medical Center, the State Patrol said.
The crash was reported at 7:54 a.m. at the intersection of Minnesota Highway 68 and Redwood County Road 5. A 1997 Chevy GMT 400 driven by Lilli Jade Voneschen, 18, of Arlington was traveling westbound on Highway 68, and a 2012 Lexus hatchback driven by Xia Xiong, 26, of Walnut Grove, was traveling northbound on County Road 5. The two vehicles collided, the State Patrol said.
Both drivers received non life-threatening injuries, the State Patrol said. Voneschen was taken to Sanford Tracy, and Xiong did not go to a health care facility, the State Patrol reported.
The Redwood County Sheriff's Office, Lyon County Sheriff's Office, Milroy Fire Department, Walnut Grove Fire Department, and CentraCare, Wabasso and North Memorial Ambulance all responded at the crash scene.
