MARSHALL -- A Tracy man was charged this week with reckless discharge of a firearm within Tracy city limits.
Lyon County District Court records said a hearing was held Monday for Noah Eugene Fastenau, 28.
A criminal complaint alleges that Tracy Police were dispatched Sunday morning to a report of possible gunshots fired in the area of Fifth Street and Harvey Street in Tracy. The complaint alleged that police found Fastenau near a handgun outside a residence in the area.
The complaint alleged that a witness said she had allowed Fastenau to handle the gun, which belonged to her. Fastenau told police that he was not supposed to possess firearms, and that it was his cousin who had fired the handgun before leaving for the Twin Cities, the complaint alleged.
Fastenau was charged with a firearms violation, and reckless discharged of a firearm within a municipality.
A remote hearing was held for Fastenau on Monday, Lyon County court records said. Bail for Fastenau was set at $15,000 without conditions, or $5,000 with conditions including that he make future court appearances, remain law abiding and stay in Minnesota.
