GRANITE FALLS -- Three pedestrians, including two children, were injured in a motor vehicle accident in Granite Falls late last week, the Granite Falls Police Department confirmed. One of the victims needed to be transported out of Granite Falls for further medical treatment, a news release said.
The accident was reported around 7:06 a.m on Sept. 4 at the Granite Falls campus of Minnesota West Community and Technical College.
Granite Falls Police said that, according to preliminary information on the accident, one vehicle and three pedestrians were involved. The injured pedestrians included one adult, age 38, and two children, ages 8 and 3. Granite Falls Police did not release the names or conditions of the victims. Police said all three people were taken to Avera Granite Falls for evaluation, and one of the victims was transported out of Granite Falls for further treatment.
The cause of the accident is under investigation, Police said. Police said additional details would be released as they became available.
Granite Falls Police, Granite Falls Ambulance, the Minnesota State Patrol and the Chippewa County Sheriff's Office all responded at the accident scene.
