MARSHALL -- Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center announced updates to its governing board occurring with the start of a new fiscal year on July 1.
Dr. Curt Louwagie, Amanda Sieling and Sr. Jodie Zimmerman completed their service on the Avera Marshall governing board at the end of June.
"We are deeply grateful to each of our departing board members for their service and leadership and the time they committed to supporting and enhancing local health care," said Debbie Streier, Regional President and CEO, Avera Marshall. "Each provided valuable perspectives and insights that made a positive impact on our organization," Streier said.
After serving as the vice chair for the past two years, Dr. Jill Vroman became the board chair with a two-year term beginning July 1. Vroman has been on Avera Marshall's board since 2023 and has been part of the local medical community as a family medicine physician for more than 25 years.
Also effective July 1, Rhonda Wiering now serves as the board's vice chair. Wiering joined the board in 2025 following a nearly 45-year career in health care. She retired from Avera in 2024 after serving in leadership roles in Avera's home care and hospice division, as well as quality. She began her career as a registered nurse at Avera Tyler.
In addition, the organization announced two new members to the board beginning July 1:
Jay Lee
Jay Lee is Dean of Students at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall where he has served in leadership roles for nearly 30 years, advancing student success, access, diversity and inclusion. He holds a bachelor's degree in sociology, a master's degree in counseling and human resources development, and an MBA with an emphasis in leadership.
Lee began his service to Avera Marshall as a community member on the board's mission and planning committee in 2025 and also serves on the Avera Health Board of Consultors. In addition to his work at SMSU, he is active in the community, serving on the City of Marshall's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Commission and several university committees. He is also a U.S. Army Reserve and National Guard veteran.
Amanda St. Aubin
Amanda St. Aubin has been a certified nurse midwife with Avera Marshall since 2023. She grew up in Marshall and previously worked as a registered nurse in Avera Marshall's Women's Center from 2005 to 2010.
She earned a master of science in nursing with a nurse-midwifery specialty from the University of California, San Francisco, and practiced as a certified nurse midwife in New Mexico for seven years and Duluth for five years before returning to Marshall.
"I'm passionate about ensuring high-quality, accessible obstetric care in rural communities," St. Aubin said. "And with family roots in the Marshall area spanning generations, I appreciate the close-knit nature of our rural community. My connection to Avera Marshall is also personal. It's where I was born and where I began my nursing career."
"We value the experience and background that Jay and Amanda and all of our board members bring. Their insight and knowledge are so important as we continue working to meet our community's current and future health care needs. We are grateful for their dedication and willingness to give their time and energy to that cause," Streier said.
The Avera Marshall board of directors makes decisions concerning the local governance of the organization. The directors include community members from the region and representatives of the Avera system.
