AMIRET -- Two people were injured when a utility vehicle and a minivan collided at an intersection east of Amiret, the Lyon County Sheriff's Office said. The Sheriff's Office said a 30-year-old Tracy man was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign. The man was also one of the people injured.
Four children who were passengers in the minivan were not injured in the crash, the Sheriff's Office said.
The crash was reported around 4:57 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of 190th Street and 330th Avenue in Amiret Township. A 2014 John Deere Gator utility vehicle driven by a 30-year-old Tracy man was traveling south on 330th Avenue, and a 2012 Honda Odyssey driven by a 36-year-old rural Tracy woman was traveling east on 190th Street, the Sheriff's Office said. The two vehicles collided in the intersection.
The drivers of the Gator and the Odyssey received non life-threatening injuries in the crash and were transported to Sanford Tracy hospital, the Sheriff's Office said. Four juvenile passengers in the Odyssey were not injured.
The Sheriff's Office said investigation of the crash determined that the Gator did not stop for a stop sign and was struck on its passenger side by the Odyssey. The driver of the Gator was cited for a stop sign violation.
Tracy Ambulance, the Tracy Fire Department, the Minnesota DNR, the Minnesota State Patrol, North Memorial Ambulance and North Memorial Air Care all responded at the crash scene.
