WOOD LAKE -- Streets in Wood Lake were packed with people on Wednesday during the final day of the city's annual three-day fair. The Wood Lake Fair has become a community tradition stretching back more than 90 years. Area residents come together for free entertainment, a carnival and to support the Wood Lake hamburger stand.
The big events Wednesday evening included the grand parade, where community groups rode on floats and tossed candy and goodies to the crowd. Kids from St. Luke's Church, shown here, were part of a farm-themed parade float.
Live music and midway rides were also big attractions at the fair. After the parade, the rides were generating plenty of smiles and even some screams from fair-goers.
