Motorcyclist injured in Monday crash

COTTONWOOD -- A Wood Lake man was injured Monday morning in a crash involving an SUV and a motorcycle, the Minnesota State Patrol said.

Cody Dean Cleveland, 27, was taken to Avera Marshall Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries, the State Patrol said.

The crash was reported at 5:52 a.m. at the intersection of Minnesota Highway 23 and Lyon County Road 10, the State Patrol said. A 2015 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Cleveland was traveling southbound on Highway 23, and a 2022 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Nicole Mae Schwartz, 16, of Vesta, was northbound at the time of the crash.

Cleveland was taken to the Marshall emergency room with injuries, and Schwartz was uninjured, the State Patrol said.

The Lyon County Sheriff's Office and Cottonwood Fire Department responded at the crash scene.
