MARSHALL -- The city announced this week that the ribbon cutting ceremony for The Splash Marshall Aquatic Center will be held at 10 a.m. Aug. 4 at the 101 West Saratoga St. location.

Tours of the facility will follow 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. The facility will open to the public at 12:30 p.m.

At the June 14 City Council meeting, council member See Moua-Leske reported that construction was concluding at the facility and staff members were working on plans to open to the public.

Construction of the new Aquatic Center facility, near the corner of Saratoga Street and West College Drive, has been ongoing since last summer. Over the past several months, structures like a water slide tower, zero-depth and deep water pools, and a leisure river have all taken shape.

We’re very excited. We got to walk through it, and it’s looking really good,” Moua-Leske said.
