MPD investigating Tuesday hit-and-run

Injured pedestrian flown to Sioux Falls

MARSHALL -- Marshall Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run incident on Tuesday. A pedestrian was hospitalized in Sioux Falls after being struck by the vehicle on Minnesota Highway 23 near Saratoga Street, Police said in a Wednesday news release.

The collision was reported around 1:55 p.m. Tuesday. Police said the suspect vehicle in the incident, possibly a newer white SUV or sedan, stopped for a short time on Highway 23, and then left traveling north on Saratoga Street.

Police did not release any identifying information for the pedestrian hit by the vehicle. However, the news release said the pedestrian was transported to Avera Marshall Medical Center, and then later flown to Sioux Falls.

The MPD is investigating the incident, and gathering camera footage, the news release said. The MPD is asking members of the public with any information on the suspect vehicle or driver to call 507-537-7000.
