Damage to a house and garage could be seen after a crash on the 1100 block of East Lyon Street in Marshall on Monday.

MARSHALL — A South Dakota man was taken to the hospital Monday morning after his pickup truck struck a house and garage in Marshall.

The crash did significant damage to the building, and to two vehicles parked inside the house’s garage, said Marshall Director of Public Safety Jim Marshall.

Traffic on East Lyon Street was temporarily blocked off Monday while responders worked at the crash scene.

A 2003 Ford Excursion driven by Jacob Samuelson of Rapid City went off the road on the 1100 block of East Lyon Street and struck part of a house and garage, Marshall said. Marshall said Samuelson was transported to Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center for medical treatment. However, he did not have information on Samuelson’s condition.
