A’s to host military appreciation night

MARSHALL — The public is welcomed to attend the Marshall A’s game on Sunday night to celebrate Military Appreciation Night, with live music from the 34th Infantry Division “Red Bull” Military Band.

The game is free to attend, and those attending can expect to see a full performance from the Red Bull Voyageurs, who will also perform the national anthem.

The 34th Infantry Division “Red Bull” Military Band, according to the Minnesota National Guard, provides musical entertainment, across the spectrum of military operations, to foster the support of citizens and the military, and to continue building trust and confidence with the military and national interests.

The band consists of soldiers, and is based in Rosemount. They stay very active throughout the year in performing and spreading military appreciation and support, and put on numerous free public performances throughout Minnesota. They have also appeared at various events like the state fair, at sporting events with the Vikings, Twins, Wild and Timberwolves, at the St. Paul Winter Carnival and more.

The military band got its start in April of 1900 and has participated in a handful of state and national campaigns, such as in both World Wars.

The Marshall A’s game starts at 5 p.m. on Sunday at Legion Field. The public is welcomed to get to the field early, as the military band will be performing from 4 to 5 p.m., in the grass behind the stadium. Those attending can also bring their own lawn chairs or blankets for the concert.

The performance is free entry, in addition to the game.

This also marks the 34th Infantry Division “Red Bull” Military Band’s second time visiting Marshall this year, as they made the trip over to perform with the Marshall High School concert band in late February as well.

The A’s will be taking on Volga, South Dakota, on Sunday and stand at 4-5 on the season prior to Wednesday’s game against Hadley and Friday’s game at Raymond.

Starting at $3.95/week.
