MARSHALL — A group of area high school students presented self-started personal businesses to the public Wednesday evening at the annual Lyon and Murray County CEO trade show.
The event was held at the Red Baron Arena in Marshall, and participating schools of the CEO Program include the high schools of Marshall, Murray County Central, Russell-Tyler-Ruthton and Tracy Area.
The Lyon and Murray County CEO Program began in 2022, and allows students to work throughout the year on creating a business while gaining professional mentorship and experience.
Marshall junior Yousef Bahjat started a car detailing service by the name of Shine Ride Detailing, and had his station decorated with supplies and equipment he uses through his services.
“I detail cars pretty much. I restore cars, I’m like a magician. (I do) a little bit of everything,” Bahjat said. “The prices vary on the service you are looking for and the type of vehicle.”

Services that Bahjat offers include interior and exterior detailing, ceramic coating, full detailing, pet-hair removal, cleaning of the engine bay and carpet or seat extraction.
Riley Pfannschmidt, a Marshall senior, also had a creative take on vehicle servicing. His business, Midwest Custom Interior, offers customization services such as tinting, polishing, engraving, along with adding in starlights and ambient lighting.
Pfannschmidt had a display at his station with a roof of the inside of a car with starlights embedded.
“This is the roof of your car, and I put lights in them,” Pfannschmidt said, while motioning over to his display. “I also do tinting on your car windows, and I also do polishing boats, boat trailers and wheels on your car.”
“I saw it on TikTok one day, and I just wanted to try it out,” Pfannschmidt said regarding how he came up with the idea of his business. “That was two years ago, so now I am just (doing it) … I like doing different things.”

RTR junior Denis Flores started a mobile detailing company, Flores D & T, where his mission is to also deliver high-quality detailing. He offers exterior and interior detailing, three-step paint correction and ceramic coating.
“It’s going good, pretty busy. I started a year and a half ago,” Flores said. “I was just scrolling Tiktok, (saw) a bunch of detailing videos, I was like, ‘Oh, I should start doing that.’ I slowly started, and now I’m trying to do it full time.”
RTR junior duo Braden Nibbe and Gavin Wieme partnered together and started up Hardline Excavation, where they deliver services such as tree and bush cleaning, apron pads and digging slab-on-grade basement floors. The two said they came up with the business idea from their fathers, who also work in the same field.
There also were a few clothing brands that students created.
MCC senior Luke Iverson and junior Caleb Rosenbrook also worked together, and created Northline Gear.

“We are doing an outdoor clothing business. We started with T-shirts and sweatshirts, and (we’ll) see how it goes. Then, we are looking to get into it some more,” Iverson said, with Rosenbrook adding that they have more options on their online store as well.
RTR senior Jonah Norgaard and junior Jayden Schreurs created Wiff Golf together, which is a golf-based clothing brand with a mix of designs created with the intention of being on and off the course.
Marshall senior Brennen Cullins started up Christ First, which is a Christian clothing brand. He also had a display of products between sweaters and T-shirts.
“I started a Christian clothing brand called Christ First, and it is used to spread the word through clothing,” Cullins said. “I have worked on this clothing brand for about a year, and I opened it up around September last year. It’s pretty new, but got a lot of outreach … It has been going pretty good.”
Kevin Tran of Marshall also came up with a clothing brand, WrestleYourFear, that he emphasized as a “movement” rather than being “just clothes.”

“This is my clothing brand, and the mission is to raise awareness for cancer and donate a portion of my profits to cancer awarness causes,” Tran said. “Some of my relatives had cancer and they passed away, that really sucks, so that really was a big motivation for me to start this business. I was already in wrestling, I just fell in love with the sport.”
Tran also noted that he hopes to move into creating wrestling gear with his brand as well, such as singlets, wrestling shoes and head gear. He currently has shorts, sweatshirts and T-shirts.
Grace Rokeh, a senior at Marshall and alum of the CEO program from last year, was showcasing her jewelry business, Inner Grace Jewelry. She jokingly said she initially came up with the idea while daydreaming in class, and has been running with it since.
“It’s been going really good,” Rokeh said, who has a large display of jewelry she makes. “I buy everything wholesale. I buy the hoop different, and then the charm different, and I put it together.”
MCC senior Chloe Olivier had her sourdough business displayed, Hidden Sourdough Bliss, with a variety of different breads. She also participates in local farmers markets.

An early childhood hobby sparked RTR senior Tucker Gile’s business idea of Fish On Jigs, which is a tackle store where he makes and sells a variety of fishing jigs.
“I’m selling fishing jibs, hand-tied lures and such,” Gile said. “I have been doing this at home for a while with family members.”
Through the CEO Program, students get opportunities through the year by attending business visits and hearing from guest speakers. They also gain personalized 1-on-1 mentorship from surrounding business owners and entrepreneurs.
