The Southwest Minnesota Orchestra hosted a pair of shows for its annual children’s concert on Tuesday in the Schwan Community Center for the Performing Arts at Marshall High School. The show’s theme, “Wild Wild West,” took area children and elementary students through an adventure of western features. Conducted and directed by Dr. Daniel Rieppel and narrated by Dr. Jan Loft, the two shows were received well by the students, who also learned about the four instrument families — Strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion.
