Injuries reported in 3-vehicle crash on Hwy. 23

GREEN VALLEY — Four people, including three children, were injured in a three-vehicle crash Friday morning near Green Valley, the Minnesota State Patrol said. Some of the occupants of an SUV involved in the crash were taken to Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.

The crash was reported at 9:13 a.m. near the intersection of Minnesota Highway 23 and Lyon County Road 8, the State Patrol said. A 2021 Volkswagen Atlas driven by Summer Rain Webb, 39, of Concho, Arizona, was traveling northbound on Highway 23 at the time of the crash. A 2011 GMC Acadia driven by Paula Gomez Boogaard, 52, of Belgrade, and a semi truck driven by Rontrell Richard Rivers, 41, of York, Pennsylvania, were southbound on Highway 23. The three vehicles collided, the State Patrol said.

Webb and three passengers in the Volkswagen, including a 9-year-old girl, an eight-year-old boy, and a 15-year-old boy, received non life-threatening injuries, the State Patrol said. Boogaard, Rivers, and two other passengers in the Volkswagen were uninjured.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, North Memorial Ambulance, Cottonwood Ambulance and the Marshall Fire Department all responded at the crash scene.
