Three injury crashes reported during Saturday snow
Injury crashes were reported during Saturday morning’s snowy weather in the Marshall region. The Minnesota State Patrol reported three different injury crashes on Minnesota Highway 23 and U.S. Highway 14.
The first crash, reported at 7:15 a.m., injured a Currie woman, the State Patrol said. A 2014 Ford Fusion driven by Kylie Jean Vandam, 23, was westbound on Highway 14 when the vehicle left the road in snowy or icy conditions. The Fusion rolled, the State Patrol said.
Vandam was taken to Sanford Tracy Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries. The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, and Tracy Fire and EMS, also responded at the crash scene.
A second crash injured a Hanley Falls woman near the intersection of Minnesota Highway 23 and 200th Avenue, the State Patrol said. That crash was reported at 10:41 a.m.
A 2014 Chevrolet Cruze driven by Rosa Rodriguez, 71, of Hanley Falls, was northbound on Highway 23 and a 2010 Ford Taurus driven by Justin Gary Henke, 21, of Stewart, was southbound when the two vehicles collided, the State Patrol said. Road conditions were snowy or icy at the time of the crash, the State Patrol reported.
Rodriguez was taken to Avera Marshall Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries, the State Patrol said. The Hanley Falls Fire Department, Cottonwood Ambulance and Granite Falls Ambulance all responded at the crash scene.
The third crash injured three people near the intersection of Minnesota Highway 23 and Lyon County Road 10, the State Patrol said. The crash was reported at 11:15 a.m.
A 2009 GMC Yukon driven by Benjamin Joe Marchington, 37, of Marshall, and a 2008 Chrysler Town & Country driven by Faustino Junior Salinas, 46, of Danube, were both northbound on Highway 23 when they collided, the State Patrol said. Road conditions were snowy or icy at the time of the crash, the State Patrol reported.
Salinas was taken to Avera Granite Falls with non life-threatening injuries. Two passengers in the Yukon, Serenity Mariajean Larviecarmo, 17, of Marshall, and Merrywind Patience Marchington, 13, of Marshall, were taken to Avera Marshall Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries, the State Patrol said.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, Cottonwood Fire and EMS, North Memorial Amblance, and Granite Falls Ambulance all responded at the crash scene.
