Marshall guards Taleigha Bigler and Reese Drake were both named to the Minnesota Girls Basketball Coaches Association’s Class AAA All-State team, announced this week, while Lakeview’s Brynn Stensrud was also selected as a Class A honorable mention.

Drake and Bigler’s backcourt excellence led Marshall to its eighth consecutive section championship game and second consecutive Section 2AAA championship victory. The Tigers’ senior duo has led Marshall to a 25-4 record so far this season, as well as a No. 4 ranking in the final coaches poll.

Bigler earned her second consecutive all-state selection this season, averaging 12.4 points, 4.5 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game. Her 3.8 steals per game were also a team-high.

Drake earns her first All-State nod after being an honorable mention last year. Her averages of 19.3 points, six rebounds and 54% shooting from the field were all team-highs, and her 4.8 rebounds per game tied Danielle Nubile for a team-high. Drake also averaged 3.3 steals per game and shot 41% from 3-point range, trailing only Avery Fahl’s 45% and Maddie Panka’s 43% clips.

Stensrud led Lakeview to its first 20-win season since 2019-20 this year, with the Lakers finishing the season at 21-8 with a Camden South Division title and a Section 3A South subsection semifinal appearance.

Over the course of the season, Stensrud averaged a team-leading 16.8 points per game on 43% shooting from the field and 37% shooting from 3. Her 5.2 rebounds per game trailed only Anah Schmidt, and she also averaged 2.5 steals.
