Three charged after search finds meth, deceased woman in Ruthton
RUTHTON — Three people are facing criminal charges, after a search at a Ruthton residence last week found a deceased woman and more than 50 grams of liquid methamphetamine, Pipestone County court records said. Dwayne Timothy Janssen, Peggy Sue Leeson and David Allen Johnson, all of Ruthton, appeared at hearings in Pipestone County District Court on Friday.
Janssen, 64, appeared on charges of first degree controlled substance crime. Leeson, 49, appeared in court on charges of fifth degree controlled substance crime. Johnson, 48, also appeared on fifth degree controlled substance crime charges.
A criminal complaint said the Pipestone County Sheriff’s Office executed a narcotics search on Feb. 11 at a rental property occupied by four people. In Janssen’s bedroom, law enforcement found a bottle with more than 50 grams of a liquid that field-tested positive for methamphetamine, the complaint alleged.
The complaint alleged that law enforcement found items like baggies, a pipe and a syringe that field-tested positive for methamphetamine in a bedroom belonging to Leeson and Johnson.
The complaint said one renter in the residence, Donna Lynn Vos, was found deceased in an upstairs bedroom. Janssen and Leeson identified the room as Vos’s bedroom, the complaint alleged.
On Friday, bail for Janssen was set at $120,000 without conditions, or $60,000 with conditions including that Janssen not possess alcohol or drugs and be subject to random testing.
Bail for Leeson was set at $10,000 without conditions, or release with conditions including that Leeson not possess alcohol or drugs and be subject to random testing. Bail for Johnson was also set at $10,000 without conditions, or release with conditions including that Johnson not possess alcohol or drugs and be subject to random testing.
Future hearing dates for Janssen, Leeson and Johnson were all set for Feb. 24.
