Lincoln Co. DFL convention is Tuesday

IVANHOE — The Lincoln County DFL will be holding its county convention Tuesday night in Ivanhoe. In addition to convention business, organizers said several speakers are anticipated, including U.S. House of Representatives candidate Erik Osberg, the campaign manager for U.S. House candidate Heather Keeler, and Minnesota State Auditor candidate Dan Wolgamott.

County conventions are part of the process Minnesota political parties go through to endorse candidates, and choose delegates for congressional district and state conventions. The Lincoln County DFL convention will start at 7 p.m. Tuesday, in the lower level of Ivanhoe City Hall.

The Lincoln County Republicans held their county convention Saturday. Speakers included candidates like Nathan Peterson and Chris Knoll, who are running for Minnesota Senate in District 21; Krist Wollum, who is running for Minnesota House of Representatives in District 21A; and Dave Hughes, who is running for U.S. House in Congressional District 7.

Political parties across Minnesota are having county conventions this spring. Upcoming conventions in Lyon County include the Lyon County Republican convention, which will be held at 8 a.m. on March 8, at the Marshall Area YMCA, and the Lyon County Democrat convention, which will be held at 2:30 p.m. on March 14 at the Marshall Adult Community Center. A pie social and silent auction will be held prior to the Democrat convention, at 1:00.

Starting at $3.95/week.
