Knoll seeks Minnesota Senate seat in District 21

ST. JAMES — Chris Knoll, CEO of Minnewaska Community Health Services, has announced his candidacy for Minnesota State Senate in District 21.

Incumbent Sen. Bill Weber recently announced he will not be seeking re-election and will serve out the remainder of his current term.

“Senator Weber has set a strong conservative standard for District 21,” said Knoll. “His work on behalf of rural communities has been invaluable, and his conservative leadership has been vital in St. Paul. I would be honored to carry that work forward.”

In his press release, Knoll said he’s seeking the Republican Party endorsement to represent District 21 because he believes rural Minnesota needs a strong, conservative voice at the Capitol.

Knoll and wife, Amanda, reside in St. James. They are a blended family with children ages 10, 10, 12, and 16 years old.

Knoll said he believes his experience, values, and skill set make him uniquely qualified to serve District 21.

“Our region deserves representation that protects rural healthcare, strengthens public safety, supports strong schools, defends constitutional rights, champions agriculture and small business, Knoll said. “Throughout my career, I have worked to solve real problems and bring people together. We need more of that in St. Paul, not more mandates and politics.”

Knoll is a graduate of St. Cloud State University with a B.A. degree in public administration and holds a master’s degree in public administration from Minnesota State University, Mankato.

He has served as an election judge and is currently the Basic Political Operating Unit (BPOU) Chair of Watonwan County, a member of the Watonwan County Health and Human Services board, member of the Leading Age Public Policy steering committee, and Treasurer of the Leading Age PAC Board.

Starting at $3.95/week.
