4 injured in Highway 23 crash
HANLEY FALLS — Four people, including an infant, were injured in a two-vehicle crash Saturday night on Minnesota Highway 23 near Hanley Falls, the Minnesota State Patrol said.
The crash was reported at 10:03 p.m., at the intersection of Highway 23 and County Road 18 in Hanley Falls. At the time of the crash, a 2006 Ford F150 driven by Isabella Sophia Shultz, 21, of Franklin, was traveling eastbound on County Road 18, and a 2012 Kia Sorento driven by Edwin Geovany Umanzor Canales, 24, of Marshall, was northbound on Highway 23. The two vehicles collided in the intersection, the State Patrol said.
Shultz and an infant who was a passenger in the Ford were taken to Avera Granite Falls with non life-threatening injuries, the State Patrol said. Canales and a passenger in the Kia, 18-year-old Wendy Lizbeth Canalesmairena, of Marshall, were taken to Avera Marshall Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.
The Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office, Cottonwood Ambulance and Hanley Falls Fire Department and First Responders all responded at the crash scene.
