Vesta teen injured in four-vehicle crash

WABASSO — A Vesta boy was injured in a crash that involved four vehicles on Minnesota Highway 68 on Sunday. The Minnesota State Patrol said Wyatt Daniel Brockberg, 17, was taken to a CentraCare hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The crash was reported at 4:21 p.m. in Vail Township, Redwood County. A 2007 Kenworth semi truck driven by Gary Allen Vandehey, 56, of Isle, collided with a 2003 Chrysler Town and Country driven by Gavin Robert Marotzke, 17, of Vesta. The State Patrol said a 2012 Chevy Equinox driven by Brockberg then collided with the semi, and a 2016 Ford Fusion driven by Zachary Austin Skoblik, 18, of Vesta, went off the road.

Road conditions were snowy or icy at the time of the crash, the State Patrol reported.

Brockberg was the only person injured in the crash, the State Patrol said. He was transported to a CentraCare health care facility.

The Lucan Fire Department, Wabasso Fire and Ambulance, the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota Department of Transportation all responded at the crash scene.
