Christmas Tree Walk winners announced
Event raises over $2,500 for Lyon County Museum
Boulder Estates won first place in the 13th annual Indoor Christmas Tree Walk at the Lyon County Museum this holiday season. Boulder Estates’ Minnesota Vikings-themed tree added a horned helmet and braids to ornaments in the Vikings team colors.
MARSHALL — A tree with Minnesota Vikings team spirit was one of the crowd favorites at this year’s Indoor Christmas Tree Walk.
The Vikings-themed tree, which was decorated by Boulder Estates, placed first in the Christmas Tree Walk competition, said Lyon County Museum director Jennifer Andries.
On Friday, the museum announced the top three trees in the competition, based on votes from museum visitors. Placing second in the competition was the KayKo Baton Studio tree, and placing third was a tree decorated by Hill Street Place. Andries said the top three trees received prizes of Marshall Chamber Dollars.
Proceeds from the event go to support the Lyon County Museum. This year, the Indoor Tree Walk raised more than $2,500 from the voting, Andries said.
“Thank you to everyone who decorated a tree, voted, and visited the Lyon County Museum during the holiday season. We appreciate the community’s support for this wonderful annual event,” Andries said.
This year, a total of 25 trees were part of the indoor walk, which kicked off after Thanksgiving. Andries said participation was holding steady after 2024’s tree walk, which had a record of 26 trees.
Each of the trees in the display was decorated by a local business, nonprofit, family or other organization. Museum visitors could vote for their favorite trees by making monetary donations in boxes at the foot of each tree.
