Caucuses are Feb. 3 in Lyon County

Meetings planned for Republican, Democratic precinct caucuses

MARSHALL — Lyon County residents will have a chance to get involved with area political parties next week. Minnesota’s 2026 precinct caucuses will be held starting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 3. The Lyon County Republicans and Lyon County DFL will each be holding caucuses.

Precinct caucuses are the first step in the process where Minnesota political parties shape their platforms, and choose delegates who will go on to attend future political conventions. Conventions are where delegates will endorse candidates for different political offices.

Republican precinct caucuses will be held in Marshall, Tracy and Minneota on Tuesday night, and the DFL caucus will be held in Marshall.

Republican caucus information:

Republican caucuses will be held in three different locations, for residents of different voting precincts in Lyon County. A caucus will be held at the Grace Life Church gymnasium in Marshall for residents of the cities of Cottonwood, Marshall, Lynd and Russell, as well as residents of Clifton, Coon Creek, Fairview, Lake Marshall, Lucas, Lynd, Lyons, Sodus and Stanley Townships.

A caucus will be held at Tracy Area High School in Tracy for residents of the cities of Balaton, Florence, Garvin and Tracy, as well as Amiret, Custer, Monroe, Rock Lake and Shelburne Townships.

A caucus will be held in the Minneota High School music room in Minneota for residents of the cities of Ghent, Minneota and Taunton, as well as Eidsvold, Grandview, Island Lake, Nordland, Vallers and Westerheim Townships.

Caucuses at all three locations will start at 7 p.m.

DFL caucus information:

There will be one DFL precinct caucus location for Lyon County residents. The precinct caucus meeting will start at 7 p.m. at the Adult Community Center in Marshall.
