Two dead in Friday crash near Wood Lake
YELLOW MEDICINE COUNTY — Two people, including a 14-year-old boy, were killed in a two-vehicle crash Friday morning in Yellow Medicine County, the Minnesota State Patrol said. The State Patrol reported that one of the vehicles involved in the crash lost control in snowy conditions.
The crash was reported at 8:02 a.m.near the intersection of Minnesota Highway 274 and 190th Avenue in Wood Lake Township. A 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by Jean Elizabeth Hodgman, 41, of Echo, was northbound on Highway 274, and a 2024 GMC Acadia driven by Stacy Lynn Timm, 44, of Montevideo was southbound at the time of the crash. The Monte Carlo lost control and collided with the GMC, the State patrol said.
Hodgman and a passenger in the Monte Carlo, Jonathan David Ramos, 14, of Echo, both died in the crash, the State Patrol said. Timm was taken to Avera Granite Falls with non life-threatening injuries.
The Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office, Wood Lake Fire Department and First Responders, Granite Falls Ambulance and Cottonwood Ambulance all responded at the crash scene.
