One injured in Redwood County truck crash

WABASSO — One person was injured Wednesday when a pickup truck crashed into a ravine south of Wabasso, the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office said. A 32-year-old man was taken to CentraCare Hospital in Redwood Falls with non life-threatening injuries.

Redwood County Deputies responded to an iPhone crash detection alert around 7:32 p.m. Wednesday, in an area near the intersection of 220th Street and Impala Avenue, the Sheriff’s Office said. When they arrived at the scene, deputies found an adult male climbing the embankment of a ravine. The man, Dylan Powell Gunderson, said he had crashed into the ravine, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies located a 1999 Ford F-150 submerged underwater in the ravine, the Sheriff’s Office said. Gunderson was treated for injuries at the crash scene, and then taken to the hospital by ambulance, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.

The Minnesota State Patrol, Wabasso Fire Department, Wabasso Ambulance and CentraCare Ambulance all responded at the crash scene.
