REDWOOD COUNTY — Two people were taken into custody after a high-speed vehicle pursuit in the early hours of Monday morning, the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office said.

Around 1:36 a.m., a Redwood County deputy tried to conduct a traffic stop on Noble Avenue south of U.S. Highway 71 in Redwood County. The vehicle, a 2001 Cadillac Seville, fled at a high speed, the Sheriff’s Office said. Law enforcement pursued the vehicle for about an hour, covering a distance of 30 to 40 miles, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The pursuit ended near Crown Avenue and 300th Street, when the Cadillac went off the road and became disabled, the Sheriff’s Office said. The driver and a passenger were taken into custody. No injuries were reported in the incident, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The incident is under investigation by the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office, and the Sheriff’s Office reported that charges are pending.

The Redwood Falls Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol and the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office all assisted in the pursuit.
