Trackchair back in final four of ‘Coolest Thing Made In MN’

A Marshall-made product has made it into the final round of the “Coolest Thing Made In Minnesota” contest for the second year in a row. This week, the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce announced that ATZ Manufacturing’s Trackchair was one of the final four products people can vote for in the competition.

The Trackchair, an all-terrain wheelchair, will compete against the Cirrus SR Series G7+ single-engine airplane, Polaris’ MRZR military side-by-side vehicle, and Minnesota Teardrop Trailer’s Vistabule camping trailer.

“Being the only holdover from the inaugural Final Four is pretty special. But this year, we’re aiming for the title,” said Adam Henning, marketing director at ATZ.

Public voting for the Coolest Thing Made In Minnesota will run until Sunday at 5 p.m. The product that receives the most votes in the top four will be revealed as the winner at the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce’s 2025 Manufacturer’s Summit on Oct. 7.

The Coolest Thing Made in Minnesota contest was created to help spotlight the role that manufacturing plays in Minnesota’s economy, the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce said. The Minnesota Chamber said about 325,000 people across the state work in manufacturing. In 2015, Minnesota exported $120 billion in manufactured goods, the Minnesota Chamber said.

The Trackchair had good support in last year’s competition, advancing through four rounds of voting, against some well-known products including Fruity Pebbles cereal, and sugar from the American Crystal Sugar Company in Moorhead. Ultimately, 3M’s Scotch tape took home the contest’s top honors.

Henning said the Trackchair has seen some strong voter support again this year.

“We’re rallying support from the Marshall business community, our hometown neighbors, and loyal Trackchair friends across the country. The first thing people usually say when they see a Trackchair is, ‘That is so cool.’ Now’s the chance to prove it,” he said.

Henning said one of the great things about being part of the contest is the chance to spread the word about the Trackchair and its purpose.

“Of course it would be exciting to win, but even if we don’t, this contest has been a fantastic way to share the story of the Trackchair and highlight its impact in helping people get outdoors and enjoy the beauty the world has to offer,” Henning said.

The public can vote in the 2025 contest until 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, at the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce’s website.

Starting at $3.95/week.
