United Way of SW Minn. launches disaster recovery fund
The United Way of Southwest Minnesota announced the launching of a disaster recovery fund to support individuals and families affected by the July 18 flooding in Marshall.
According to the United Way release, the fund is designed to help alleviate the challenges faced by those impacted. It also stated that the United Way is developing a grant process to support community-based recovery efforts and provide assistance where it is most needed.
“We know how devastating this storm has been for many in our community,” said Meg Louwagie, CEO of United Way of Southwest Minnesota. “Supporting our neighbors in times of crisis is one of the core missions of our work in Community Resiliency. Our goal is to provide meaningful support to help people begin to rebuild and recover.”
UWSWMN is also seeking partnerships with local businesses and community organizations to assist in recovery efforts.
“Monetary donations are urgently needed to ensure the fund can meet the growing needs of those affected,” the release stated.
The released offered a number of ways people can help and receive help:
