MARSHALL — The Marshall Area YMCA board of directors on Thursday announced the appointment of Cindy Rosa as the organization’s new chief executive officer.

According to a YMCA release, Rosa is a Marshall native and brings nearly three decades of YMCA leadership experience and a deep commitment to community-focused service.

Rosa most recently served as CEO of the YMCA of Forest City Iowa, where she led strategic growth and program development since 2023. Her professional journey with the Y includes roles in youth programming, membership, and senior leadership.

Rosa previously served the Marshall Area YMCA as a program director from 2002-05 and associate executive director from 2008-2015.

“We are thrilled to welcome Cindy back to the Marshall Y,” said Aaron Ziemer, chair of the Marshall Area YMCA board of directors. “She brings a unique blend of local insight and proven leadership across the YMCA movement. Her experience in program development, community engagement, and fundraising will be instrumental as we look toward the future.”

Rosa will officially begin her role as CEO on Aug. 1.

“I am honored to return to the Marshall community and to a YMCA that played such an important role in my early career,” said Rosa. “I look forward to working with our members, staff, and volunteers to build on the Y’s legacy of service and impact.”
