The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office gathered Tuesday to give Joe Jensen a send-off, as he retired after more than 20 years of service as an emergency dispatcher. Over the radio, dispatchers announced that Jensen had reached his final 10-7, the code for an officer going

off duty. Jensen started working for the Sheriff’s Office in 1999, but his career as a dispatcher went back to the 1970s, the Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday. Jensen’s integrity and dedication helped make him an “unseen hero,” the Sheriff’s Office said.
